2005 Andrea Tacchi, Coclea, ex. Suzuki Iwao
Woods: Spruce top, Indian rosewood back and sides. An outstanding example of maestro Tacchi’s work (renowned Florentine luthier, influenced by Bouchet/Friederich). The Coclea model uses spherical geometry for the top and back, ensuring easy sound emission, polyphonic clarity, and volume. The guitar was opened up to its full potential by its previous owner, the late virtuoso and pedagogue, Maestro Iwao Suzuki (celebrated Japanese concert guitarist, 1st prize Moscow International Competition 1957). Out of all the guitars I have tried, this is absolutely the easiest to play. The sound is extremely classy and woody, much like a well aged cello. An extremely special and refined instrument.
